How To Give Feedback For A Presentation - Chapter 1 - When (and When Not) to Give Presentation Feedback - Part 1

Our guidance on deciding whether to give presentation feedback.

Answering the question “How did I do?” after a peer or your boss delivers a presentation is a delicate balance, and depends as much on the situation as it does on the quality of the presentation itself. Not every presentation needs detailed feedback, and not every request for feedback is actually seeking constructive criticism. In this guidance, we’ll help you decide whether to give feedback at all and what to say if you do.

**In this guidance, unless we say other wise - we use the word “feedback” to mean substantive, helpful commentary on someone’s performance - as the term is commonly used. We are not referring to the Manager Tools Feedback Model, which is used only by managers to their directs, nor are we referring to the Manager Tools Peer Feedback model. Both of these have defined purposes and phrases.
