Political Errors - Chapter 2 - Snubbing An Ally

Our guidance on what to do when you snub or undersupport an ally.

We've said many times that what you call politics, those above you call collaboration.  Politics is just a pejorative word for something that happens all the time in relationships.  A give and take of favors is perfectly normal.  Your friend gives you a ride, you pick up chips on the way over to watching the game.  She buys lunch, you cover the gift for a mutual friend.

For some reason, this normal human behavior becomes sleazy in the workplace.  As a consequence, you might not support an ally as fully as they thought you would during a meeting or in a project.  What do you do then?

This Cast Answers These Questions
  • How do I make sure my friends support my ideas?
  • What do I need to do to solidify my relationships?
  • What do I do when relationships go wrong?
